AirAsia’s Freedom Flyer Programme

Freedom Flyer Programme is the loyalty programme of AirAsia, that is designed to reward our members for flying with AirAsia. There are 4 status in the programme – Red, Gold, Platinum and Black, each offering our members a wide range of rewards and privileges.

You will earn BIG Points based on the amount spend instead of the distance travelled. The more you spend on your ticket, the more BIG Points you will earn. Table below illustrates how you can earn BIG Points based on 4 different membership status of the newly launched AirAsia Freedom Flyer Programme.

All travel must be completed within one calendar year or anniversary year for CoBrand credit card holders. BIG Points are also awarded for any add-on products following the chosen fare type. Promo fares are excluded.

It is easy to enroll and be a member. You can sign up for this membership for free at www.airasia.com/www.airasiabig.com and select ‘Sign Up’.

If you are an existing BIG Member, you will be automatically accorded Freedom Flyer membership based on your past 12 months Qualifying Flown Sectors.

The table below indicates the required Qualifying Flown Sector for each of the membership status.

Your membership status will be displayed upon your login to your account or to AirAsia BIG mobile app.

One way flight operated by AK, FD, QZ, Z2, I5 and XT are counted as one (1) flown sector, while one-way flight operated by D7 and XJ, including fly through is counted as two (2) flown sectors. A few exceptions may apply to carrier code D7 and XT flights.

To check your total Qualifying Flown Sectors, please contact us via askbig.loyalty@airasiabig.com.

Once you have accumulated the Qualifying Flown Sectors required, you will be upgraded automatically the next month. You will enjoy your new status until we review it at the end of your membership year.

If you are not a co-brand cardholder, your membership status will be reviewed at the end of the calendar year. The review will be based on your Qualifying Flown Sectors within the membership year.

If you are a co-brand cardholder, you are required to meet the relevant Bank’s and Airline’s minimum spend criteria as stipulated in the table below or accumulate a minimum of 24 Qualifying Flown Sectors during the membership year to continue to enjoy the benefits of Platinum status.

1 – Bank Minimum Spend covers all spend including but not limited to utilities bills, petrol transactions, insurance bills etc;

2 – Airline Minimum Spend covers all spend including base fare, special service request, airport tax, goods and services tax (“GST”), processing fee etc.

BIG Points are earned through flying with AirAsia and purchases made with our non-airline partners. BIG Points can be used for the redemption of tickets and non-flight related vouchers.

Qualifying Flown Sectors can only be earned when flying with AirAsia except for tickets that were redeemed with BIG Points. The total Qualifying Flown Sectors earned also determines your membership status. At the start of a new membership year, your Qualifying Flown Sectors count will be reset to zero.
